I hold a Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Counselling awarded by Bath Spa University plus a Certificate in Working with Children and Young People gained through Weston College. I also hold a Certificate in Counselling for Depression achieved at the Metanoia Institute, London.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work within their ethical framework of good practice and have regular supervision for my therapeutic work. In addition I hold a BACP Certificate of Proficiency. I also have a current DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) Certificate.
I am committed to regular Continuous Professional Development. I currently work with the NHS offering short term counselling plus delivering brief intervention for anxiety and depression within GP surgeries in addition to my private practice.
I have worked within a variety of organisations offering counselling to Adult and Young Carers, the Bereaved and Young People within a school setting and a local authority.
I also have over 18 years experience of working alongside Young People in an academic environment gained through Primary and Secondary Schools as well as supporting Young People who have been disaffected from schools. My varied life and work experiences have allowed me to make connections with people from all kinds of backgrounds and I find this to be enormously helpful in my work as a counsellor.
